A Traveler’s Christmas List of Essentials

IMG_2487.jpg

Not sure what to get the special travel lover in your life?

I may have a few recommendations…

Have I mentioned that I have made every travel mistake in the book? ✈️

Yeah, for real. Wandered a city at night by myself-lost without a working phone or GPS, lost my passport, missed planes, missed trains, trusted people I shouldn’t have, ran through airports and dropped my boarding ticket, got stalked on my way home, twisted my ankle on cobblestone streets, YOU NAME IT- I’VE DONE IT.

Stay tuned for many of those stories!!

And this is why - after traveling to dozens of countries- I can actually offer advice on what NOT to do!!

Wow -what an accomplishment LOL- but seriously. Because I’ve done all the No No’s I know a lot about what you truly need to travel successfully.

Rechargeable Battery Phone Case - $29

I can’t count the number of times I have been in the middle of my travels and my phone started to die. LITERAL NIGHTMARE. Be prepared with extra battery life on hand. You never know when you will be at a loss for an outlet. You could also go for a separate battery pack, but for your phone in particular - this is one less thing you have to carry.

Tile Item Locator/ Tracker - $24

I have never used these but, BOY - would this have saved me a scare or 5!! Connect this device to your phone via bluetooth to have access to its location. Slip this tile into your wallet, passport, bag, or friend’s pocket. That way if you accidentally drop your wallet somewhere or if it gets stolen - you can track it.

Safekeepers Leather Travel Wallet for Documents - $32

Though I don’t use this when I am sightseeing- I do use it when I am actually traveling via plane. No one wants to be rummaging through their bags in the middle of airport security looking for their passport. This is how things get lost/stolen. BELIEVE ME.

Tip: do not put your important documents in a backpack because they become out of sight easily. Keep them in front of you.

Universal Travel Adapter - $21

This is an all-in-one outlet adapter. This is great for laptops, tablets, cellphones, etc. but check wattage before using anything like hair dryers, straitening irons, etc.

Refillable 4-in-1 Travel Dispenser Bottle Set for Toiletries - $11

Instead of having a thousand toiletry bottles to keep track of - keep it simple. This dispenser is TSA approved, leak-proof, and comes with labels. Great for liquids and lotions.

Traveling is an amazing way to disconnect from the superficial parts of this world. BUT there are times where you need wifi on demand for work, communication, or maybe even blogging purposes. Keep your connection in your pocket!

ComfoArray Travel Neck Pillow - $19

I am sure you have seen the neck pillows that wrap around the back of the neck, but ~personally~ those are never comfortable because my head always falls forward. This is the perfect solution- 100% memory foam wrap that supports any sleeping position you prefer.

Sea-Band Anti-Nausea Acupressure Wristband - $6

I have never tried these, but if you struggle with motion sickness - I would recommend trying these. I have heard good things!

I am definitely one to get nauseous on long car rides, but am not one to let that stop me from going places!

Personal Security Alarm Keychain - $7

Feeling safe is one of the most important things when you are traveling - especially if you are alone! I am not one to live in fear -but I have been in a few situations that have scared me to the bones. This alarm can be attached to your bag, keys, belt, etc.
